The Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment
Head of Engagement and Development
The Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment (SSEE) is an interdisciplinary hub of the University of Oxford that focuses upon teaching, research, as well as engagement with businesses and long-term environmental sustainability. They sought to appoint a Head of Engagement and Development. The successful candidate needed to have a strong track record in stakeholder engagement, income development and experience of how enterprise and environment intersect.
Within two weeks Nurole surfaced Richard Hunt, Director of Communications and Fundraising at Surrey Wildlife Trust, former Associate Director of Development at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew Foundation and former Corporate Development Manager at Royal Horticultural Society.
I was surprised and impressed by the quality of candidates we were able to shortlist... We found an excellent candidate for our Head of Engagement and Development role, and as the list of candidates generated was so strong, we ended up hiring a second individual into a senior role we created especially for her. Nurole enables you to harness the power of technology without having to sacrifice the personal touch.

The Nurole process is slick and efficient from a candidate perspective. The site was a refreshing way to cut through and I suspect helped the panel to focus the interview process.
