CEO succession planning: “If you’re good enough, you’re old enough!"
This week’s roundtable discussion, chaired by Sir Roger Carr, saw leaders of the Nurole Community discuss the topic of CEO succession planning.
Knowing what you want is key to appointing the right CEO at the right time, concluded the speakers of this week’s Nurole roundtable discussion on CEO succession planning.
Chaired by Sir Roger Carr and with input from twenty leading Chairmen and HR Directors, the conversation produced much helpful advice for both Chairmen and CEOs appointing successors.
The conversation about succession planning is often a difficult one. Transparency was therefore highlighted as the most vital aspect of senior management’s approach to the issue.
With regards to mentoring younger potential CEO candidates, the roundtable agreed: “If you’re good enough, you’re old enough!”
