Trinity College London is a leading international exam board and independent education charity that has been providing assessments around the world since 1877. Having been part of the Trinity College of Music (now Trinity Laban), it became a separate entity 30 years ago but retains strong links with Trinity Laban. The Council, which acts as Trinity's Board, shares responsibility for the governance and performance of Trinity in deciding and meeting strategic objectives. 


Person specification

Trinity is now seeking a senior leader with strategic finance/commercial experience who will join the Council. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in overseeing Trinity’s strategy. 

The successful candidate may come from any range of sectors and roles, but they will offer strong financial acumen and a commercial approach. They will offer the Trinity College Council strategic guidance on risk, business performance and financial planning. Experience of digital service platforms is also welcomed but is not essential. Above all, candidates will be excellent communicators, highly collaborative, passionate about Trinity's values and mission, and enthusiastic about its ambition to bring assessments of the highest quality to learners everywhere. Trinity College particularly welcomes applications from female candidates.


Terms of appointment

This role is unremunerated, but reasonable, pre-agreed travel expenses will be reimbursed. The appointment is for a three-year term, which can be renewed at the discretion of the Board. In addition to Council meetings, members are also expected to join and attend Committee meetings as necessary.

Time commitment for the role is 3-4 Council plus 4 Committee meetings per year.
