The COIF Charity Funds
Non-Executive Director
The COIF Charity Funds, managed by CCLA (second largest charity fund manager in the UK), are specialist charitable funds designed to meet the short and long-term requirements of charities, irrespective of their size. Due to upcoming retirements, the board sought to appoint three Non-Executive Directors who needed to have investment management experience and, ideally, expertise in one or more of the following areas: legal; operations; or sustainable investment.
Through Nurole they found three ideal candidates in Anthony Watson, Senior Independent Director at Witan Investment Trust Plc, Caroline Ong, former Portfolio Manager and Chief Operating Officer at Pamplona Capital Management and Stephanie Niven, Portfolio Manager at Aviva Investors. This was Stephanie's first NED role.
Nurole is a great platform for increasing the talent pool by allowing interested parties to put themselves forward rather than relying on a network of established contacts. This is particularly helpful in opening doors to younger applicants and particularly female applicants. The process was great and I’m excited about this new opportunity.
