Burgh House
Trustees
Hampstead Village, London, United Kingdom
An independent historic house and charity for arts and the community, Burgh House is a beautiful, Grade I-listed, Queen Anne building in the heart of Hampstead Village. Its purpose is to provide a welcoming space where everyone can discover the rich heritage of Hampstead, through engaging with its collection and participating in a diverse programme of cultural events including exhibitions, talks, concerts and workshops. Burgh House was seeking new Trustees with the experience needed to help grow its cultural impact on the community through cultural, educational and local community outreach programmes.
Through Nurole they appointed Heather Stewart (Creative Director at BFI), Jillian Barker (Director of Learning and Participation at Royal Opera House) and Wendy Sudbury (Director at Cambridge Management Group).
Nurole worked with us to understand the skills gaps on the board in order to target individuals who met these requirements. We were keen to find candidates with a strong local connection, and were pleased to be presented a strong list of candidates who not only brought the skills we needed but also lived in the neighbourhood. We interviewed a great selection of candidates, and ultimately appointed three new Trustees through Nurole.
