A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they know they will never sit
Nurole expands its corporate social responsibility programme by planting a tree for every approved member recommendation.
The Nurole membership base is growing rapidly. This is largely as a result of exceptional board-level members recommending other equally talented people from their networks to join the platform and apply for suitable roles.
To celebrate our expanding membership, this year, Nurole is going to plant a tree for every successful member recommendation.* Nurole has partnered with One Tree Planted, a non-profit organisation focused on global reforestation to organise the planting of our trees.
From the outset, Nurole has had a strong commitment to corporate social responsibility and giving back. When a Nurole member successfully recommends someone from their network for a commercial role advertised on the platform, for example, Nurole donates a portion of its fees to a charity of that member's choice. This initiative has led to over £20,000 being donated to good causes to date.
Nurole also offers not-for-profits significantly reduced fees when they successfully recruit board members via the platform.
"We have always felt it important that the Nurole platform should have a positive social impact, not just on the individuals and organisations it directly serves and through the enhanced governance it encourages, but also on the broader community," explains Nurole's CEO Susie Cummings.
"As the saying goes, 'a society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they know they will never sit.' I am delighted that our new tree planting initiative ensures that we have a lasting positive impact on the health of the whole planet - thanks not just to old men, but also old women, young men and young women and all the great variety of extraordinary board-level talent engaged with the Nurole platform who are actively recommending people from their networks for board roles.
"If our membership continues to grow at the rate it is now, I hope that this time next year a whole Nurole forest will be taking root in a part of the world where reforestation is desperately needed."

*A recommendation is successful if the individual recommended is subsequently invited and registers as a Nurole member. Invitations to Nurole membership are solely at the discretion of Nurole.
