Diversity and Inclusion Roadmap for private equity industry published by ILPA
The US-based Institutional Limited Partners Association has published a Diversity and Inclusion Roadmap for the global private equity industry
The Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) Roadmap covers best practices that general and limited partners can adopt to advance diversity and inclusion within their organisations and throughout the private equity ecosystem.
The Roadmap covers a five-point action plan that supports an organisation’s ability to:
- Demonstrate organisational support for diversity and inclusion
- Attract and promote diverse talent
- Build and sustain inclusive cultures
- Apply diversity and inclusion to investment strategy
- Measure and benchmark progress
“Over the last several years, we have seen many organisations take substantive steps to improve diversity and promote inclusion within our industry,” says Steve Nelson, the ILPA’s Chief Executive Officer. “The ILPA Diversity and Inclusion Roadmap should serve as a clearing house of information, where industry participants can share ideas and insights, and learn from the experiences of others. Today’s publication offers a baseline of practices which ILPA intends to grow over time with contributions from the full range of industry stakeholders in order to promote these important ideals and maximise the collective impact.”
The ILPA is now encouraging all stakeholders in the private equity industry and those operating in other private markets to explore the opportunities presented in the Roadmap, and to submit new initiatives and additional resources that could prove helpful to others.
