Nurole starts 2017 with a boardroom bang!
2017 started with a bang for Nurole’s members who continue to be extraordinarily successful in finding non-executive and senior executive roles.
The last month saw members notified about a kaleidoscopic range of leadership opportunities around the world. These included roles with top private equity houses such as Apollo, who were looking for board members for an exciting business partnering with Nike in the US; TPG, looking for a CFO for one of the UK’s leading retailers; and Investcorp, who were looking for a US or UK based digital board member. In addition, we saw a host of other great investors posting anonymously due to competitive processes or sensitive situations, such as the Swiss private equity backed packaging company looking for a board member, and the Italian private equity backed telecoms company seeking a new Chair. Members also saw some exciting opportunities from private companies like The White Company who sought a new CEO to drive growth in the US. Perhaps most popular were executive and non-executive roles with publicly listed companies such as Blackrock, Schroders and other FTSE 250 organisations, as well as FTSE 20 National Grid who were recruiting a Head of HR.
While commercial non-executive and executive roles at private equity and publicly listed companies continue to be Nurole’s core focus, we are delighted to report that we have had a particularly active few months in the not for profit sector, with roles from the the likes of the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust, Tate and Reach to Teach attracting great interest. We’ve seen Nurole members take up board positions across a wide range of sectors including education (e.g. Hinkler Academies Trust), healthcare (e.g. the British Heart Foundation), the arts (e.g.The Academy of St Martin in the Fields), environment & conservation (e.g. Wildscreen), society (e.g. UK Sport) and heritage (e.g. The Horniman Museum & Gardens); just a few organisations who have recently benefitted from Nurole’s unique ability to efficiently connect high quality people with great roles.
Besides getting great people on not for profit boards, since launching a new initiative at the end of December 2016 we have also been donating to charities chosen by members who have successfully recommended someone for a commercial role. Thanks to your recommendations, we are delighted to have already supported a number of great causes chosen by our members, including:
- The United Nations High Commissioner For Refugees
- The Royal National Children’s Foundation
- Inspire Suffolk
- SOS Children’s Villages
The response to the new recommendation initiative has been so positive, we’ve decided to extend it for the entire year. So if you’re the first person to recommend someone, who successfully finds a commercial role through Nurole in 2017, then we’ll donate £500 (or the $/€ equivalent) to your favourite charity.
