About

Founded in 1843, Marlborough College is one of the country’s leading independent co-educational boarding schools. It draws pupils from across the UK and the world, with a community which comprises over 1,000 pupils aged between 13 and 18, all of whom are full boarders. The College occupies 200 acres of beautiful countryside and is located on the edge of the attractive market town of Marlborough. The Marlborough Mound, a Neolithic monument dating back to 2400 BC, lies at the heart of a historic campus, which blends stunning architecture with inspirational facilities.

Marlborough provides an excellent all-round education founded on Anglican principles. The College believes firmly in its duty to offer a balanced and broad education, and all pupils are encouraged to seek the highest standards in their academic and personal lives. Beyond its activity in the UK, the College also owns a thriving co-educational boarding school for children between 3 and 18 in the region of Iskandar, Malaysia. Marlborough College Malaysia (MCM) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Marlborough College and, as such, is a unique international independent school.

Looking ahead, Marlborough aims to be recognised as the leading provider of a world-class, balanced, co-educational, boarding experience. As part of its new strategy, it has recently embarked on a ground-breaking campaign which will see 10% of all pupils attending the College on a full bursary, the equivalent of 100 free places for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. In addition to the launch of the Beko Innovation Centre in 2021, a significant refurbishment project is underway for its science block, located in a listed building. These ambitious capital projects aim to maximise academic outcomes and fulfil the College's long-term vision of building a diverse, socially-minded and forward-looking institution which provides life-changing opportunities for young people from any background.
